A woman has met a horrific death while snorkeling as she was encircled by sharks which took turns biting chunks off her body.
Jordan Lindsey, 21, from California, was snorkeling in the Bahamas when she was encircled by the vicious animals and killed.
The family had gone on a last minute excursion, where Jordan and her mother, Kami, had gone snorkeling and her dad, Michael had gone to pet the island’s pigs.
The young woman was swimming near Rose Island when her mum screamed and tried to warn her after she spotted the sharks.
Mum Kami started swimming towards her daughter, shouting, “Jordan, come swim to me”, but it was too late. He daughter was already missing most of one arm.
Michael told Good Morning America : “They’re [sharks] swimming slowly and Jordan said, ‘Mom, there’s another shark coming’ and then it just hit – the second shark hit again like on her lower leg and just took a giant chunk out of her and then that’s the last thing Jordan said.”
Mum Kami attempted to punch the sharks away from her daughter, before managing to pull Jordan from the water and onto a nearby rocky area where they awaited a boat to take them back ashore.
Michael went on to describe how Kami watched her daughter die in her arms, adding: “I just kissed her on the forehead and said, see you later, Jordan.”
The Royal Bahamas Police Force said Jordan was later pronounced dead at Doctor’s Hospital in Nassau.
Speaking about the harrowing moment they watched their daughter being attacked, Jordan’s father Michael said “the first shark took most of her right arm off” before she tried swimming to shore.
The heartbroken dad said he has cried “every night” since the tragedy.
