A woman has committed suicide after she gambled away the £36,000 that was given to her by her mum to clear her gambling debts.
Kimberley Wadsworth was given the cash by her mum Kay, 65, after she sold her house to get her daughter free of debt.
Kimberly, 32, who was a clear gambling addict, had gambled away all the money without paying off a single debt.
She then sent her mum a heartbreaking message saying: “It’s too late for me, mum” before taking her own life.
Kimberley, from Ilkley in West Yorkshire, had started gambling in online casinos in 2015 while battling with depression.
Kimberley spent £44,000 on gambling at her worst -including £17,000 from her grandmother’s will.
Her mother said: “I sold my house in Leeds, the family home. I gave her £36,000 so that she could pay off her gambling debts and she didn’t pay it off.
“She didn’t pay a penny off and she just gambled it all away within two weeks and I became homeless.”
Desperate to help her daughter in any way, Kay arranged for her to see a hypnotherapist – but Kimberley never went to the appointment.
