Divers have believed they have found the biggest shark on the planet, or at least, the first to be caught on camera.
The huge monster shark was named ‘Deep Blue’ and it was found off the coast of Hawaii on Tuesday. Deep Blue is estimated to be around 50 years old and measures slightly less than 20ft long, much longer than any other shark ever caught on camera.
History, told ABC News: “It’s a very big white shark, obviously.
“One of the largest that has ever been seen in the water.
“I’m not sure it’s 20ft, I suspect it’s a little less than that. Perhaps 18, 19 feet, if I were to guess. She’s a big girl.”
The odd shark was nicknamed Deep Blue by expert Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, who has dived with the creature as part of a Shark Week documentary for the Discovery channel.
